Golden Springs Elementary School Reviews

What is wrong with Golden Springs' administrators? The new principal can't take a stand against the few troublemakers we have and punishes the entire student body. The k-8 expansion is failing due to the lack of planning, leadership and organization. It was so much better under Magham's leadership and as a K-6 elementary school. Even the teachers are frustrated with the new principal and staff.

This is definitely not a quiet school. PTO is great and very involved in organizing fun activities for students and family.

I am somewhat disappointed that the principal does not follow up on issues very well in this school. But there are some great teachers. The parent involvement is remarkable.

I love that Golden Springs Elementary School has a great leader, Principal Pantanini, and caring teachers who challenge the students academically. The school also emphasizes student responsibility, good character and pride in themselves, the school and community. In addition, to being a top academically achieving school, it has also has great ethnic diversity. Go Cougars!!!

Not only do we have dedicated and involved principal and teachers, the parents are also so involved in supporting the school and classrooms. My daughter has been attending since Kinder and now in the 3rd grade. She loves to come home and brag about her day. She also mentions how she enjoys helping out her past teachers with classroom assistance. She can't get enough of them and it's so nice to hear that the teachers are inviting and care.

My kids have been attending Diamond Bar's first elementary school, Golden Springs, for seven years. When my wife and I bought our home almost ten years ago, Golden Springs stellar reputation (ranked in the top one percent of school nationally) was a huge factor in our decision. It is an exceptional school that prides itself on equipping our next generation of leaders for success in the classroom and boardroom! Keep up the splendid work, Cougars!

I'm on my third Golden Springs Scholar and the school keeps getting better every year. Mr. Pantanini, the principle, is wonderful. The teachers are all involved and truly concerned with my childrens welfare. I couldn't ask for a better school.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Golden Springs. The administration, teachers, parents are the best you can ask for. Every adult at the school knows your child by name. The kids are happy going to school. The teaching is like no other. If I had to choose between GS or a private school there is no way that I would ever leave this school. Mr Ferrari is a GOD send to any student that is lucky to have him as a teacher. EVERY teacher at this school is a GOD send to all the student at this school......

Golden Springs Elementary is a fantastic school. The reason that it has such a positive atmosphere is due to all teachers, principal Mr. Pantinini, parents, and volunteers who make a positive impact on the childrens lives. It was this school that gave my child an opportunity to excel academically. Thanks to the music program my daughter played her first instrument the violin. It has truly been a passion in her life. So much so, that she has continued orchestra through middle school and has played in a concert at Diamond Ranch High School in December 2007. Thank you for inspiring my daughter to find her inner gifts that she loves, and the drive to excel. We truly appreciate all that you have impacted on our lives.

A lot of interaction with kids. Positive environment.

This school is absolutely awesome! The teachers are fantastic and totally approachable. The learning environment is very positive and there is not a place you can walk without bumping into another parent. Parent involvement is one of the key reasons why these kids are doing so well. As volunteers, we take care of the background things so that the teachers can spend more time with the children. The pto is very active here. They are very committed to helping the school achieve their goals. They support financially, sponsor the art masters & pe programs among other so many other things. The student population is ethnically diverse which is a definite real world plus. And if you take a look at the scores based on race, you will see that these teachers are skilled at reaching all students across the board - they are truly committed to success!

Golden Springs has always had very high standards and produces great scores. The parent involvement at Golden Springs is exceptional. Our children not only receive top-level instruction, but are exposed to other activities which make them more 'well-rounded' children.

This school has an excellent cirriculum along with staff. They have a variety of music classes and the level of parent and staff involvement is great.

The school cares more about their test scores than about the children in their school. The school is a very negative place for a child to learn. The teachers, as well as administration, seem to care very little about changing the atmosphere of the school. The front office would be the only place where you might feel welcome. There definately needs to be a change of administration along with a change of teachers. I would try to get out of the district and go to another one if it is possible.

I think gs is a great school.well everybody knows now that some teachers have to get laid off. i think however they chose the wrong teachers. mrs. scarbrough is a great teacher who helped my kids become very responsble. I think if it was't for her my kids would not be where they are today. thank you mrs. scarbrough for everything.

Overall...I think GS is a wonderful school. I wasn't however, that impressed with my child's teacher. My child was in Kinder and didn't feel that the teacher was very nurturing. My daughter rarely received kudos/positive feedback. I was always getting little notes about what she wasn't able to do without any suggestions on ways to improve. At a parent conference, the teacher indicated to me...'oh yes, your child is able to write her numbers from 1-30 but, a lot of the kids write from 1-100'. To me, this was an insult because writing from 1-30 is well within the guidelines of kinder expecations. I thought the statement was a jab that hit well below the belt. There is nothing wrong with having high expectations however, I felt my daughter was being penalized because she wasn't excelling, but was doing average work. When I was in Kinder, kids were nurtured and given lots of positive feedback and praise and stars and happy faces. This teacher would threaten to throw assignments in the trash can if the assignment didn't meet her expectations. By the end of the school year my daughter would start trying to cover up her work so I wouldn't see what she was doing. I know that GS has a good reputation and I feel that the academic expectation is high. There is nothing wrong with that however, I didn't feel that there was a postive match between my daughter and her teacher. I'm hoping that next year will be a better year!!!! Best luck with the new school year!!!
